End of the Year
It is hard to believe that the end of the school is approaching, as the snow is blowing and drifting today. As we near June, please remember:
Texting at What Cost?
Is texting changing our students? Will texting change their ability to focus, shorten their attention span and slow the learning process? What are the long-term effects? This article from the Washington Post discusses the possible consequences of texting. Read the article here.

It is hard to believe that the end of the school is approaching, as the snow is blowing and drifting today. As we near June, please remember:
- Books and materials that belong to the library need to be returned at the end of the year. State funding for libraries mandates that materials purchased with library funding are stored in the center.
- Overdue notices for students are given to Homeroom Teachers. We appreciate you passing these along. If you get a notice for a student you do not have, please notify us.
- We plan to clear students through study halls on the last day of school. This will be a full-day rather than a half-day this year, so the pace will be a bit slower. More to come before the last day of school.

Four Apps that Teen Love
Read about four apps that teens are using that may be of concern. Why is Snapchat so popular? Did you know it is currently the number one sexting app? Kids may think that the "evidence" is gone once the picture disappears, but that is simply not so.
Click here to read the entire article.
Budget Time
Thank you to those who suggested titles to add to our collection. We can still take your suggestions for books, videos, magazines, professional materials or other items. Please share with Pat before budgets are due.
Also, plan to attend one of the session next week to learn about our new Skyward budget/requistion process. We will hold repeat sessions Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 3:15 to 3:45 in Room 215.
